Optronica release three DVD albums
Posted by admin on July 2nd, 2010With distributor PIAS UK and backing from Nesta, Optronica release three audiovisual DVD albums from UK AV artists on September 6th, and the artists are Exceeda, The Mellowtrons and Robin Mahoney & Si Begg.
Fresh Breaks is the debut album from audiovisual specialists Exceeda. An original mix of danceable breaks, computer animations and sample-based video-cut-up perfectly synced and fused in idiosyncratic style. Features a whole host of extras including AV loops, MP3s bonus tracks, hidden extras and remixes by Two Long Peoples, Max Cole, A Guy Called Gerald and Ben Simms.
In Perpetuity is the debut audiovisual album from The Mellowtrons aka electronic musician Lee Walker, who has been meshing hip-hop beat power with electro pulsations and leftfield electronic weirdness since the mid-90s releasing on labels including Skam, Rawkus and Trent Reznor’s Nothing Records – and the highly original animator Giles Thacker, visuals designer for a host of high profile music acts including Orbital, Turin Brakes, the Verve and Röyksopp.
We Made Our Own Disaster is the debut audiovisual album from long-time Noodles collaborators film-maker Robin Mahoney (Glastonbury the Movie) and prolific electronic dance music DJ and producer Si Begg. A typically humourous and eclectic odyssey of phat electronica and retro video cut-up subtitled ‘A study of fascism in late 20th Century democracies’. With full surround and stereo sound.
